The Beginning

Last night I should've been oogling Kevin Bacon in The Following but as it was I found myself on my hands & knees, filing away recipes & interesting snippets I've been squirrelling away over the winter months.   It appears my somewhat haphazard filing system is failing.  And badly.  A fantastic loaf recipe I had has gone missing. So hacked off, especially as my mother in law, who is a marvel at all things baking and who was the recepient of said cake, raved about it.

On a mission to find it, I unleashed the hoards of paper filling a cupboard, the size of which I could easily pop my 10 year old into.  Through the mounds of paper, still on my living room floor, I had a moment of clarity.  I need to ditch the blunt scissors & dried up stick of glue and take to my lovely, never failing camera, mobile & laptop.  So da-da, here it is, my brand spanking new, new way to file...Mrs B Blogs.

Despite the fact that it purports to be a place of inspiration, I couldn't think of an inspiring blog name or layout but bear with me, I'll get there I'm sure.  I figure that here is where I can take screen shots of all the things I see on screen that I love; photograph things in magazines I lust after; and more importantly, add links to my favourite loaf recipes!

In just one morning I've gone from this...

To this....

And here's my first link.  No it's not the cinnamon & raisin loaf I was hoping to share (still can't find it) but instead it's a link to Tom Selby's blog.  He's a photographer who started The Selby, a personal project offering an insider's view of creative individuals and their homes.  It's been around for years and I first discovered it when I read (& clipped) the article I Spy in the photo above.  Now I can free myself of some paper & know that's it's logged and filed right here, ready for when I'm feeling nosey.

And if anyone out there has a good recipe for a cinnamon & raisin loaf (it was more of a cake really, lovely & moist & baked in a loaf tin), please feel free to ping it my way.

Happy Wednesday.

Rachel.
